Safety and privacy

Overgod’s storyteller is an AI, so it’s built on the assumption that the AI will sometimes ask for something stupid. It never gets to act on its own. Every request passes three checks, and any one of them can drop it.

  1. The Director’s pacing decides when something happens. The AI only writes what it is.
  2. The Director’s validator drops anything outside the rules: a mob that isn’t allowed, a curse too long, an item that’s banned. It drops; it never “fixes” a bad request into a slightly different one.
  3. The plugin re-checks every action against your live server: player still online, not opted out, not in a safe zone, under the mob cap.

What Overgod can never do

  • Run commands, place or break blocks, or edit your world.
  • Give TNT, lava, fire, spawners, command blocks, spawn eggs, bedrock or anything like them.
  • Spawn withers, wardens, dragons or anything outside its mob list.
  • Let its mobs break blocks, start fires, open doors, trample crops, hurt pets or villagers, or stick around after a restart.
  • Spawn anything near world spawn or inside your safe zones.
  • Keep an action going: everything it starts ends within 30 seconds or is cleaned up.

What it says

Every line the god says goes through a filter before it reaches chat: no links, email addresses or phone numbers, no slurs, nothing about players’ real lives (ages, schools, family), and no repeating a player’s own words back at them. Worlds rated Everyone get no swearing. A line that fails is dropped, and if nothing usable is left, the god falls back to the pack’s own lines.

What it sends

The plugin sends game events: joins and leaves, deaths and what caused them, kills of Overgod’s mobs, advancements, rough positions for spawning, and prayers. Chat is sent only if you set chat-mode: full. Nothing about opted-out players goes beyond join and leave.

The Director keeps what makes the story work: each player’s deaths, kills, favour, and a few short notes the god keeps about them. The text of prayers and chat is deleted after 7 days. Full details are in the privacy policy.

Your controls

  • /overgod pause stops everything new; /overgod veto ends what’s in progress.
  • Cruelty sets how hard it pushes, down to no raids at all.
  • chat-mode decides what the plugin is allowed to send.
  • Players can /overgod optout at any time, and the god forgets them.
  • The dashboard can download everything stored about your world, or delete it.

Young players

Worlds default to the Everyone rating. Overgod doesn’t collect ages, emails or real names from players; it only knows their Minecraft usernames.
