Troubleshooting

Codes work once and expire after 30 minutes. Get a fresh one from the dashboard. If you created the world a while ago, that’s almost always the reason.

/overgod status says “not connected”

  • Check the server console for lines starting with [Overgod]. They say what went wrong.
  • “Another server linked to this world”: two servers used the same world. Only one can be connected at a time.
  • “This world was relinked”: someone linked a different server. Run /overgod link with a new code to take it back.
  • “Bad token”: get a new link code and link again.
  • Your host blocks outgoing connections: some hosts do. Ask them to allow outbound WebSocket connections.

The plugin retries on its own, waiting a little longer each time, up to a minute.

It’s connected but nothing happens

That’s usually on purpose. The god builds up slowly: the first few minutes are greetings, then omens and rumours, and raids come later. Also check:

  • Min. players on the dashboard. Below it, nothing happens.
  • Paused: /overgod status says so.
  • Cruelty: Gentle never raids.
  • Players inside a safe zone or near world spawn won’t have mobs spawned near them.

The god doesn’t answer every prayer

It answers when it’s interesting, not every time. It also has a 20-second cooldown per player, and won’t take requests from players who opted out.

Mobs didn’t spawn for a raid

The plugin checks every spawn against your live server and skips it if there’s no safe ground nearby, the player is in a safe zone, or the mob cap (max-overgod-entities) is reached. The god’s lines still play.

Will it break my world?

No. Overgod can’t place or break blocks, its mobs can’t grief, and they despawn on restart. See Safety.

Does it work with Spigot or Folia?

Folia 26.1.x works: the plugin runs every action on the region that owns it. Plain Spigot isn’t supported; Overgod needs Paper’s API.
