Set up Overgod
Overgod has two halves. The plugin sits on your Minecraft server and does what it’s told, checked against the live world. The Director runs in the cloud, remembers your players and decides what happens next. The plugin connects out to the Director, so you never open a port.
What you need
| Server | Paper 26.1.x or 1.21.11, or Folia 26.1.x |
| Java | 21 or newer (Paper 26.1 itself needs Java 25) |
| Access | Permission to add a plugin and run console commands |
| Invite | A beta invite code. Get on the list if you don’t have one. |
1. Create your world
Go to Get an invite, enter your code, name your world and pick who runs it. You’ll get three things:
- a link code for your server (works once, for 30 minutes)
- your host key, which signs you in to the dashboard. Save it somewhere safe.
- the plugin download
2. Install the plugin
Put Overgod-0.2.0-beta.jar in your server’s plugins folder and restart the server. It creates plugins/Overgod/config.yml.
3. Link your server
In game as an op, or in the server console:
/overgod link ABCD1234
The plugin trades the code for its own credentials, saves them to config.yml and connects. Check it:
/overgod status
You should see connected, the god’s name and the current act. That’s it. The god greets players as they join and the season starts.
Lost the link code or it expired? Open the dashboard and press Get a link code.
What happens next
- First hour. The god introduces itself, learns names and starts keeping notes. Expect omens and rumours before anything attacks.
- The season. A season runs in acts (four weeks by default). Raids get bigger, villains get names, and players who keep killing them start getting mentioned by name.
- Every week. The Chronicle, a recap of what actually happened, posts to your Discord if you add a webhook in the dashboard.
- The finale. The last act ends with the villain coming in person.
